Stanley Shapiro, MD, graduated from the University of Toronto in 1981. In the 1990’s he was a consultant for addiction medicine in the United States, a medical consultant in the pharmaceutical industry, founded two medical software companies. and co-authored two books.
He built and sold a change of outpatient addiction clinics which were completely sold by 2015. For the past 10 years he has been the medical director of the Oaks Center of the Saint Joseph’s General Hospital, in Elliot Lake, Ontario Canada. The Oaks Centre is a leading in-patient addiction rehabilitation and detoxification center.
He is a thought leader in addiction medicine in Canada.
In 2010, Dr. Shapiro co-founded Nuraleve Inc. with Daniel Shapiro, PhD., Computer/electrical engineer and entrepreneur, and Brian Dressler, MD, a medical colleague.
